Cordelia HeaneyCordelia Heaney joined Market Umbrella as Executive Director on February 1, 2021. Her career has focused on promoting economic justice and gender equity and has bridged a variety of industries, with experience in nonprofit management, fundraising and grants development, public policy advocacy and development, and higher education administration, She was most recently the Executive Director of Compass Center for Women and Families in Chapel Hill, NC. She has previously held positions at Tulane University’s Newcomb College Institute and was the Executive Director of the Office on Women’s Policy at the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services. She holds an MBA from the Tulane University A.B. Freeman School of Business as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from New School University and B.A from Barnard College. In her free time Cordelia enjoys cooking and canning, trying out new restaurants, collecting records and cookbooks, and exploring New Orleans.


Cristina Berthelot

Cristina BerthelotCristina was raised in the heart of Sportsman's Paradise amongst a family of fishermen and tobacco farmers. Growing up between the Bonnet Carre Spillway and Cancer Alley impacted her at a young age, thus developing a great passion for nature, wildlife, and environmental advocacy. As a first generation college graduate, Cristina's elementary days as a Wetland Watcher evolved into a B.G.S. concentrating in environmental sociology and biology from Southeastern Louisiana University. While at SELU, her studies reached to areas of food inequality, urban farming, and the bitter truth of the food industry. After studying sustainable agriculture abroad in Cuba, Cristina diverted her focus to food justice through farmers markets where she promotes the importance of food, sustainable farming practices, and the ecological and economic impacts of eating locally. Cristina enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her dog Biscuit, and getting her hands in the dirt.


Ashley Christensen

Ashley ChristensenAshley moved to New Orleans in 2008, by way of Cedar Falls, Iowa, to help rebuild Hurricane Katrina-damaged homes of elderly and disabled residents through Catholic Charities' Operation Helping Hands program. Being from Iowa naturally means that there are farmers in her family. Ashley's great uncle was a hog farmer. Her great-grandparents grew and sold produce out of their home, and even made their own wines. Every year her family picks enough strawberries to make at least a hundred jars of Great Grandma Millie’s famous strawberry jam, lovingly renamed "Jimmy Jam" after her grandfather, who now spearheads the endeavor and always ensures that a few jars make it to Ashley in New Orleans. While living in Iowa, Ashley helped run a local garden center for four years and obtained a degree in graphic design. She currently lives in the Bayou St. John area with her husband and two dogs. She enjoys spending time with her stepson and daughter, reading, cleaning the house while listening to very loud punk rock, plants, collecting antique door knobs, art supplies that she never uses and anything lemon. In 2019, she obtained her B.A. in Accounting and is currently studying for the CPA exam.


Angelina Harrison

Angelina HarrisonAngelina Harrison is originally from a small family dairy farm in Wisconsin. She grew up helping her mom can and preserve from the bounty of a kitchen garden and none of her food came out of a box. After graduating with honors from UC Berkeley with a B.S. in environmental science and policy, she went on to work in local government on various climate action plan implementation items including alternative transportation infrastructure, municipal curbside recycling, and composting enhancement, and regional solar permitting standardization. She moved to New Orleans in 2011 and immediately got her hands dirty working for Hollygrove Market & Farm where she quickly became the market manager and then, the general manager. She is excited to make the transition from retail to public markets and continue her work building the local food system. Angelina is thrilled to be able to live in this beautiful city and still work with farmers. She enjoys festivals, second lines, and parades with her husband and daughters, and aspires to one day actually grow a tomato during a New Orleans summer.


Joseph Hector Louise-Jeune

Joseph Hector Louise-JeuneJoseph moved to the United States of America 23 years ago from Carrefour, Haiti. He obtained his first degree in Accounting in 1994 and worked as the Account and Finance Manager for Duchatour Travel Agency in Haiti for which he traveled back and forth to the United States to attend various seminars and conferences. In January 1998, Joseph decided to join and marry his high school sweetheart Edilienne Louis Jeune in New Orleans, Louisiana. From their union three beautiful children were born; Christelle, Herby and Juliette. Arriving in New Orleans, Joseph continued to be a community leader and a mentor for the Haitian youth. He co-founded the Haitian Catholic Community of New Orleans which he presided for over 18 years and remains the actual Music Director. Joseph is mostly known and recognized by the City of New Orleans for his zeal and dynamism as a board member of the Haitian Relief Task Force in which he was relentlessly raising funds and bringing relief from New Orleans to Haiti after the devastating Earthquake of January 12, 2010. He is still the radio host of La Voix d'Haiti, a radio program sponsored by the Haitian Relief Task Force and WRBH 88.3 FM that brought awareness about the humanitarian needs of the Haitian people after the Earthquake. After his work at the Task Force, Joseph went back to the University of New Orleans to complete and obtain his Bachelor in Science of Accountancy in May 2019 and currently working to become a CPA. Joseph owns and operates HETFAC LLC (Hector Tax & Financial Accounting Consultant). He is also a co-owner of Rendez-Vous Creole Restaurant, the best Haitian restaurant in New Orleans.


Bridget Rabun

Bridget RabunBorn and raised in South Louisiana, Bridget grew up spending weekends fishing with her father and snapping peas with her grandmother, developing a love for all this region has to offer. After graduating from Louisiana State University with a B.A. in Economics, she began her career in fundraising with the Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge where she worked on a variety of initiatives including addressing the area’s play deserts and the fight against childhood obesity. Once in New Orleans, Bridget worked for New Orleans City Park and the New Orleans Museum of Art where she has successfully raised funding for a variety of disciplines spanning art and recreational programming, conservation efforts, historic preservation, and capital projects. Bridget holds a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. She is driven by a belief that fundraising is a crucial tool for wealth redistribution to connect donors with causes that provide vital resources and create a better community for all. In her free time, she enjoys supporting local thrift stores in her quest for new additions to her collection of stoic cat figurines as well as items that can be incorporated into elaborate carnival costumes.


Diya Wheeler

Diya WheelerBorn in Bangalore, India, Diya immigrated with her parents to the United States at a very young age. Her parents were still in training while she was small, so home was a wide mix of U.S. cities and towns (they even sent her back to India with grandparents for a bit!) until the family was able to settle with her new baby brother in New Hampshire. The good ol' 603 is deserted even by New England standards, and Diya grew up in the forest shoveling snow, raking leaves, hiking in the foothills of the green mountains, walking her dog along the beach and swimming in the Atlantic. Living in the beautiful countryside has given her a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Diya's mother happens to be an excellent and innovative home chef (Dad's not too bad either!) and this, combined with her diverse background and home life, has had a huge influence on Diya's worldview. A foodie with a deep appreciation for the cultural influences and ingredients in a dish, Diya is passionate about food security and finds that going local is a key step in thriving in a sustainable future. She came to New Orleans to study at Tulane University, graduating in 2019 with a double major in Environmental Studies and Anthropology with a minor in Studio Art. She hopes to be able to work closely with communities and children to increase access to healthy, substantial groceries and meals. New Orleans has shown Diya a lot of love over the years and she wants to stick around and give back in any way she can.
