Sweet Potato Chips
Everybody loves a dupe! Make your own potato chips at home with potatoes from the market, and get creative with your own seasonings. Keep it simple with salt and vinegar, or see if you can emulate the Zapp’s Voodoo seasoning!
Ingredients
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and position rack in the middle of the oven.
- Using a mandolin or a sharp knife, slice the sweet potatoes very thinly (keeping the skins on), ensuring the slices are uniform.
- Toss the sweet potato slices with olive oil & sprinkle with salt & cayenne pepper to taste. Lay out the slices in a single layer on a large baking sheet, avoiding overlap.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes (checking halfway) and flipping the slices to the other side. Cook until golden-brown around the edges.
- Remove from the oven & let stand for 10 minutes to finish crisping up. Serve immediately.
