Picks of the Week:

Latke Daddy at the Thursday Market

Did you catch Latke Daddy at last week’s Thursday Mid-City Market? Don’t miss your chance to enjoy his artisanal, adventurous, and mouthwatering latke creations - for a limited time only.

Known from Moonlight Market as Txow Txow Modern Pintxos, Chef Adam serves up fresh, creative flavors like the RUSKI DADDY—topped with house-cured salmon, smoked trout roe, and beet labneh.

Visit Latke Daddy at the Thursday Mid-City Market on January 16th, 23rd, and 30th to experience these one-of-a-kind treats!

Come Volunteer This Week

We’re looking for volunteers to help with consumer behavior analysis at the market this week. Sign up for a shift and earn a $5 market token to spend with any vendor!

Volunteering with CCFM is a great way to enjoy the fresh air, connect with neighbors, and celebrate the joy of fresh, local food. Plus, your efforts play a vital role in helping the market grow and thrive.

Local Dairy

Last month, everyone was talking about T&R Dairy’s amazing eggnog—it was a hit! There’s just something special about knowing where your dairy comes from. Whether it’s buttermilk, cream-top whole milk, or a pint (or two!) of their homemade ice cream, you can find T&R Dairy at all three markets. Stop by and treat yourself to something local and delicious!

The Greens are Greening

If you’ve been to the market lately, you’ve seen an abundance of wonderful greens. While mustard greens took a small hit from the recent cold weather, there's still lots of them and more at the market! At all three markets, you can find mustard and turnip greens with the Monicas, and local lettuces and more with VEGGI Farmers Co-op. At the Thursday Mid-City Market, stop by River Queen Greens for radicchio and escarole, and Perrilloux Farms for cabbage.

Vendor of the Week:

Candlestick Bakery

Visit Candlestick Bakery at the Sunday City Park Market and treat yourself to an incredible pastry, including a variety of artisanal king cakes. Ask Summer about catering, too!

Baking since 2009, Summer Vetch employs seasonal produce and flavors to lovingly handcraft a range of breakfast pastries and sweet treats, many inspired by her time in France! Located in Hammond, Louisiana, Candlestick Bakery puts an emphasis on sourcing ingredients locally. Their pastries are even made with milk from Sinagra, a Family Dairy in Amite! Summer loves the technical nature of laminated pastries and the substantial impact that time & temperature have on ensuring a great final product! She says, “It's so satisfying to see a croissant develop over the course of the three day process and it feels great when you nail it.”

Recipe of the Week:

Cauliflower Cream of Mushroom Soup

Warm up with this comforting Cauliflower Cream of Mushroom Soup, a cozy twist on a classic favorite. Roasted cauliflower and savory mushrooms come together in a silky, flavorful blend that’s perfect for these chilly days.
