Market Umbrella is an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3), based in New Orleans, whose mission is to cultivate the power of farmers markets to drive economic and community health in the region. Market Umbrella has operated the Crescent City Farmers Markets (CCFM) since 1995.
Market Mommas Club
Market Mommas Club is a breastfeeding incentive program open to lactating parents with a child up to 6 months old and parents-to-be who plan to breastfeed and are currently receiving or eligible for Louisiana Medicaid and/or WIC benefits.
Market Mommas Club members attend a breastfeeding support group with NOLA Baby Cafe, or with the Birthmark Doula Collective’s support groups, Cafe au Lait and Cafe con Leche. After enrollment through the Crescent City Farmers Market or their breastfeeding support group and attending the monthly support group, club members are then eligible to receive their incentive.
Members receive incentives each month for up to six months or until the program ends. These incentives are redeemable at all Crescent City Farmers Market locations. Interested in becoming a Market Momma? Fill out this interest form!
Enrollment for 2024 Market Mommas Club Cohort opened Monday, September 16th and is now closed. Upon acceptance into the program, participants will receive a welcome email with details on breastfeeding support groups, incentive pickups, and monthly meetups in the market space.

Who is eligible to participate?
Pregnant or breastfeeding persons with a child up to 6 months old and parents-to-be who plan to breastfeed. Participants must also be eligible or currently receiving WIC and/or Medicaid. Program participants can only participate in the Market Mommas Club once.
How do I register?
Enrollment period for Cohort 2 of 2024 is now closed. Please look out for updates on social media and on our website as to when the next cohort’s enrollment period will open in 2025.

How long can I receive this incentive?
Participants are eligible to be MMC members for up to 6 months.
How do I receive my incentive at the market?
- Attend a breastfeeding support group & be sure to sign in using the attendance link provided at the support group!
- Visit the CCFM Welcome tent.
- Let CCFM staff members know you are a Market Momma.
- Provide your name and email address that you registered in the program with.
- Receive a $60 incentive in CCFM tokens.
- Spend your tokens at the Crescent City Farmers Market.
What if I cannot make it to the market to redeem my incentive one month?

Can I participate/receive benefits from MMC, Market Match, and FMNP?
Yes! These programs are to support you in whatever way possible. Market tokens do not expire, therefore if you have more tokens than food needed, save them for another day. Click links for more information on FMNP and Market Match.
